AMSOIL/Briggs partnership good for our business

 

AFK is proud to announce that it will be using AMSOIL Briggs and Stratton Synthetic 4T Racing Oil in all its LO 206 engines for racing, track days and schools.

 

As we began researching the Briggs and Stratton LO 206 engine last fall we learned that the oils that we were told were designed specifically for karting were basically colored “PAG” (polyalkylene glycol) compressor oil with (maybe) a few additives blended in. If you have been racing 4-cycle engines for any amount of time you know you were told to change your oil at the end of every day at the track. Sometimes between sessions. Right?

 

Why? Because one of the characteristics of PAG oil is that it attracts moisture. Absorbing even the moisture in the air. As evidence of this we have found rust on the surfaces inside our assembled engines when we've been forced to leave the track before draining all 6 or more engines on our team. The water also reduces film strength of the oil even as the race day goes on.

 

Briggs has a lot riding on the LO 206 sealed engine concept and when it came time to ensuring that the engines could go two or three seasons without opening the crankcase for any sort of service or simple inspection, they turned to synthetic oil experts AMSOIL to develop a purpose-designed oil for high revving, high temp small air-cooled engines. That partnership resulted in the AMSOIL Briggs and Stratton Synthetic 4T Racing Oil which will protect all those moving parts you're not going to be able inspect while providing a level of performance that exceeds the single advantage the PAG based oils have - low resistance.

 

For us, an engine failure is not just a bad day at the track, it is bad for business. Our clients rely on us to know how to prepare their karts to complete every lap and get the most out of their investments. We have always taken that very seriously. We believe the AMSOIL Briggs and Stratton Synthetic 4T Racing Oil is the best oil available for our team's fleet of brand new LO 206 engines especially at NCMP with it's long straights and excessive periods of wide open throttle. We will be using it exclusively.We are not an AMSOIL dealer but we will have 4T in our shop and trailer for sale. We want to see every LO 206 racer get the most from their engine.
