Based in Columbus, Ohio, Conlin SpeedSports is entering its eleventh year of karting in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Michigan. For 2012 we will be working with customers in the Mid State Ohio Kart Club series at Circleville Raceway Park, Kart Racers of America at New Castle Motorsports Park, as well as regional and national races around the country.
Whether you're a seasoned pro, a new racer looking for a shorter learning curve or just a motorsports fan looking to experience true high performance karting, we have a program for you. Come under our tent and allow to us take care of the event details while you focus on the important part - THE DRIVING. For the last two seasons karts prepared and maintained by our team had only 3 mechanical DNFs in over 200 green flags. We take track time very seriously and we'll do everything in our power to maximize yours.

01-30-12 - We've posted our tentative 2012 schedule. http://www.conlinss.com/tss/2012RaceSchedule.pdf
01-29-12 - Congratulations to fellow Columbus team Michael Shank Racing on their sensational victory at the 50th Rolex 24!!!!!!!!
01-27-12 - Good luck to our hometown (Hilliard) based Insight Racing team in today's Grand Am 200 at Daytona.
01-26-12 - Our own Julie Conlin will be working with Rum Bum Racing in her capacity as one of Sunday Group Management at-track PR staff. Good luck to RBR & SGM.
01-24-12 - Good luck to fellow Central Ohio team Michael Shank Racing this weekend at the 50th running of the Daytona 24 hours
01-24-12 - Def worth a watch. Very funny. A notice the big pic of Sarah in a kart as the Mayor of Hinchtown walks into Sarah's office.
01-19-11 - Kudos to Mike Adams, Mark & Mark Dismore and whoever else was involved in getting the New Castle Motorsports Park schedule hammered out and posted. This is the earliest ever, we think.

Also, another great decision coming out of the Comet Kart Sales offices was to add the Clone CIK class which allows the traditional 2-cycle config to be competitive again. Well done gentlemen.
01-18-12 - Couldn't help but notice that the new Commercial Point Karting Classic (formerly Grand Prix of Karting) web site features two AFK karts (and the side pod of a third) front and center in the main pic of the landing page. #14 is Travis Ward and #13 is Dana Conlin Mees, 2009.

01-10-12 - Back in December we said that the Indy Karting Classic was the weirdest race we'd ever been involved in. This video shows just how goofy it was.
12-30-11 - WKA Manufacturer's Cup at Daytona Day 2: We managed to take what we developed yesterday and improve on it. Qualified 2nd less than a tenth behind Jamie McMurray. In the Pre-Final Roby got close a few times, even taking a run at Jamie on the main straight with about 3 laps to go but Jamie saw him coming and defended.
In the Final Roby slotted into second at Turn 1 and couldn't find a way around Jamie the rest of the race. Had that pass worked in the Pre-Final giving Roby pole for the Final it would have been Jamie chasing Roby to the checkered.
Very good start to the 2012 Championship. Very cool, BTW, that Jamie stayed around to be a part of the awards ceremonies.
12-29-11 - WKA Manufacturers Cup at Daytona Beach: Roby went from 9th to 5th in TaG 1 and from 10th to 3rd in Leopard. Pretty happy with those results considering where we were at the end of practice yesterday. Let's just say we weren't fast right right off the trailer. But it actually makes all the hard work worthwhile. Hopefully we can keep it up for tomorrow.
12-23-11 - We almost did it. Proud to be Roby's wrench and part of Checkered Motorsports.

12-11-11 - The Indy Karting Classic in the Conseco stadium was the weirdest race we've ever been involved in. High five to Trey Shannon for staying out of trouble as much as he did and reeling in an 11th place in the TaG Feature. Many thanks to Mike Unger for the collaboration. Two heads shaking and being scratched is better than one.
12-10-11 - Putting the final touches on Trey Shannon's MKP Birel and heading out to the Indy Karting Classic this afternoon.
12-06-11 - Could have been a whole new career path and a way out of Mayberry. But I think Thelma Lou discouraged him. Not so much because of the danger as much as for that last scene.
11-20-11 - How to screw up your entire SKUSA SuperNats weekend: Have a bumper get inside your wheel and bend the bead lock enough to leak all the air out. We're on the trailer Sunday.
11-19-11 - So far the SupoerNats have been brutal for the Roby/Jimbo team. Two days of struggling with handling finally produced a well-balanced kart with Roby qualifying it 16th in a field of 80+. But just when we got the chassis dialed in we missed the engine set-up for the first heat race.
The main problem we're having besides the super low grip parking lot surface is that what with practicing mid-afternoon, qualifying at sunset and racing at night conditions are changing faster than we can guess at changes. Maybe we can stay ahead of it tomorrow.
The stars of the PCR crowd were Kyle Smith driving and dad Jeff tuning. They were all over it all day qualifying 7th. Then in the first heat Kyle was a solid 2nd when a full course caution allowed his margin to evaporate and then got shuffled back to 5th. Still, a great start to their SuperNat weekend.
11-12-11 - Four evenings of cleaning chain lube and worm guts (8 hours of rain driving will do that) from just about everything and the 24 Hour kart is finally heading back to MRP Motorsport.
11-03-11 - Nice.
10-30-11 - We certainly finished off the season in style. In the last eight days we've:
Helped get two karts to finish of the Robo-Pong 200 endurance race at New Castle with Roby and Kyle finishing 6th.
Helped Trey Shannon set a new world record for the most miles driven by a single person in a go-kart in 24 hours.
Helped get two teams to the finish in the Toughman 225 at Circleville. John Voterro and Dave Creech finished 2nd and the team of Roger Schroer, Randy Landes, Ted Klaus and George Willard finished 3rd. Both teams were in AFK prepped karts.
10-29-11 - Mark is a new dad! That's right, Eli William Nevill was born at 5:02 p.m. Friday. Congratulations to Mark and Chris on the arrival of their first child!!!!
10-28-11 - Roby got some good press in his hometown.
10-27-11 - Great write-up from Ekartingnews on the 24 Hours for TSA and new World Record!
10-26-11 - Thank you to everyone that followed the world record attempt here and for the enthusiasm and encouragement you provided us.
We're grateful to Trey for contacting us to be involved with this extraordinary event. We're at our best when we're pushing ourselves to new limits.
I have to thank our amazing crew: Dave Creech (who's headlight solution saved the whole attempt when the temp lights went out at the end of the straightaway), John Vottero, Mike Unger, Mark Nevill (who sadly couldn't be trackside as he was awaiting the arrival of his first child - we've asked him to think of the team and race schedule next time he's in the midst of a romantic interlude that may result in conflicts), Julie Conlin and Tracy Conlin (who, among other varied duties, made a dash across rush hour Indy to ensure we had every potential problem covered).
As you may expect, the credit for the reliability of the kart and the economy of the pit stops were largely due to preparation and planning and all the people above were involved in that. There is over 60 collective years of karting experience among those people.
MRP Motorsport gave us an excellent package. The Birel was rock solid and the Rotax sounded the same at the end of the 24 hours as it did at the beginning. Many thanks to MRP's Marc Miller who sent us every imaginable spare we could possibly need. But in the end, all we used out of the huge box was a clutch drum/drive gear and 3 chains. Other than that, all we did was change the main battery every 6 hours and the Rotax never missed a beat.
And a shout out goes to Motorama Kart Parts who lent us a clutch puller in case we needed to replace the clutch. Gladly we didn't.
After just a couple minor issues at the very beginning of the run, everything went like clockwork. With each completed lap and on each pit stop I, as the crew chief, kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. But it didn't and the credit for that goes to everyone mentioned above.
10-26-11; 10:03am - 10:00 AM and 847.318 miles completed. Beat the record by 46 miles!
10-26-11; 9:08am - Trey Shannon has broken the world record and has now gone back out to run until 10:00 AM
10-26-11; 8:45am -Trey Shannon breaks the world record!!!!!!
10-26-11; 7:58am -Trey has begun the stint that will see him break the record if all goes according to plan!
10-26-11; 7:08am - 21 hours. 810 laps. 745 miles. 57 to go. Still damp. Still Dark.
10-26-11; 6:12am - 20 hours. 783 laps. 720 miles. 82 to go. Track is drying. Slooooowwly.
10-26-11; 4:37am - 18 hours, 720 laps, 662 miles. Still raining.
10-26-11; 2:43am - Trey is coming to grips (literally) with the wet conditions. First lap, 1:46. Second lap 1:36, third, 1:30, fourth 1:28. This is what we need to keep moving forward. Really glad we banked that extra distance earlier now.
10-26-11; 2:35am - The rain has stopped but with the track very wet, the plan is to send Trey out for a full stint on rain tires. And he's off!
10-26-11; 2:20am - 10th pit stop made a bit ago. With thunder and lightning in the area there was much discussion of whether to take an extended break. However, the group decided to send Trey back out to complete as many laps as possible until if and when the rain came. After only a couple laps, the skies opened and we are now waiting to see if this 10-mile cell will pass through quickly. Rain tires are ready to go if needed. Stay tuned!
10-26-11; 12:45am - 12:45 a.m., 600 laps, 552 miles complete. Last pit stop was routine yet again. MRP Motorsport know how to put a Birel together!
10-25-11; 11:57pm - Mike Adams and his crew here at New Castle Motorsports Park are committed to seeing us have the best chance we can to get this world record. To replace the rented light tower that went out an hour and a half ago they ran down to an all night department store and bought a couple of work site halogen lamps with stands to light up the last turn.
Honestly, we haven't heard "no" or "we can't" from anyone here yet. This really is the best kart track in North America.
10-25-11; 11:18pm - Everything is going according to plan and Trey just made his ninth pit stop at the 13th hour. Trey also spent some time with his trainer during the break.
10-25-11; 10:45pm - 20 more laps and Trey will hit 500 miles!
10-25-11; 10:29pm - At 10:25 PM the lights at the end of the straight went out. Luckily the headlight allows him to continue and he is maintaining his same quick pace!
10-25-11; 10:09pm - 12 hours, 486 laps, 447 miles.
10-25-11; 9:52pm - Routine eighth pit stop. We changed the engine battery and the headlight battery. The chain was hitting the chain oiler and was restricting it so we spent a little bit of time opening that up. Trey is back on track and has completed 480 laps.
10-25-11; 8:53pm - 1/2 way there!
10-25-11; 8:16pm - Just made the seventh scheduled stop and Trey's completed 412 laps. The stop was routine - changed the headlight and mychron batteries.
10-25-11; 7:20pm - Even though the track is getting cold, Trey is still lapping faster than the target. If he keeps up this pace we'll beat this record by 6am!
10-25-11; 6:58pm - The temporary track lights are on and the track is beginning to be illuminated!
10-25-11; 6:53pm - Sixth scheduled stop. New chain, new rear sprocket and we installed the headlight as it's beginning to get a little darker out there. Meanwhile Trey worked with Pit Fit Training's Jim Leo during the break...
10-25-11; 6:08pm - It's hour 8 and we just passed the 300 mile mark! The Hoosier tires have proven to be amazing as Trey is still on the first set. Julie and Tracy are back from MKP - thanks to the guys there who gave a quick alternate route back to NCMP!
10-25-11; 5:43pm - 290 laps, approximately 270 miles. Fifth scheduled stop complete. Routine except for replacing the safety clip on the RF wheel and removing the rear bumper. The mounting hardware was wearing pretty quickly. (Yeah, we weren't surprised either and we could have removed it before the attempt but it had a cool TSA graphic on it. We'll put it back on for the final few stints.)
10-25-11; 4:41pm - The drive train is a priority. At 6 hours into the run the chain oiling system is keeping it all nice & healthy.
10-25-11; 4:06pm - Just realized that our clutch puller is for the old style clutch. Don't plan to need it but we can't do this without one. Julie and Tracy are making a run to Motorama Kart Parts to pick one up. Many thanks to Bud there for bailing us out on our "oops".
10-25-11; 4:03pm - Just finished our 4th scheduled stop. Was planned to be a 20 minute stop but everything was done and Trey felt good enough to go back out after 14 minutes. We're currently slightly ahead of the previous world record average but it is still very early. Banking time now while we can.
10-25-11; 3:10pm - It's 3:10 and we're working lap 200 - we've done our second "200" in 3 days. Battery issue is behind us and since then only had one other issue has raised its ugly head - the big nut that holds the drive gear to the drum worked loose. Thanks to MRP Motorsport for all the spares that made that a quick fix.
10-25-11; 11:25am - It appears an early battery issue has been resolved. Trey has been running smooth, consistent laps for the past half hour.
10-25-11; 10:22am - Race update 10:15am - Trey came in for a spark plug issue. Jim of Adrenaline Fix Karting made an adjustment and he's back on the track. Jim's working on it for the scheduled stop at 11:15am. Otherwise the sun is shining and it's going well!
10-25-11; 8:38am - Morning has broken over the World Record for the greatest distance traveled in a go-kart by a sole driver.
10-25-11 - Just over 2 hours from the start of the 24 hour kart driving world record but first a word about the Robo-Pong 200 presented by Bridgestone and NOS.
For the second year in a row AFK has teamed up with Checkered Motorsport, this year fielding Roby Bujdoso and Kyle Knecht. After qualifying 14th they ran in the top ten only losing a 5th place position two laps from the checkered flag.
We also worked with the Out For Fun team of Ryan Estepp and Michael O'Chocke who improved 13 positions to finish the race in 24th. All four drivers ran heads up, solids races that kept them out of trouble and on the track. Fast fast fast pit work made both teams run like clockwork all day. Special thanks to long time AFK crew Dave Creech, Mike Unger and Noah Unger for their major contributions to the success.
Now, on to the World Record. Stay tuned, we'll be updating this site as the 24 hours rolls along.
10-20-11 - For the first time in seven years there will not be a Conlin SpeedSports/Adrenaline Fix Karting entry in this weekend's Robo-Pong 200 presented by Bridgestone and NOS. But we'll be sharing our knowledge base with the Checkered Motorsport entry of Roby Bujdoso and Kyle Knecht and the Out For Fun entry of Ryan Estepp & Michael O'Chocke. Keep an eye on karts 32 and 22.
10-18-11 - One week from right now we will be well into the 13th hour of Trey Shannon's quest to drive a go-kart farther than any other human has over the period of 24 hours. His goal is 1000 laps of New Castle Motorsports Park or about 935 miles. To put that into perspective, that's like driving from Columbus, Ohio to Daytona Beach, Florida.
In a go-kart.
Non-stop.
We'll have a dedicated team there to do everything we can to help him reach his goal. You can help the cause too. Find out how at http://www.kart24hour.org/ Site/Home.html
10-16-11 - Everyone here is crushed by this loss. But for us Dan will be remembered not only for his accomplishments at the most elite levels of motorsports but also for his genuine unreserved enthusiasm for karting. At the 2011 Manufacturer's Cup at NCMP as well as at all the RoboPong 200s, he did not participate as a superstar gracing us with his presence but as just another driver with a pure love for driving a kart and a burning desire to drive it better than anyone else.
I will be forever grateful for the respect Dan showed me and my group of friends that make up our RoboPong crew when he gave us the privilege of preparing a kart for his brother Elliot and friend Jason Moore.
Good-bye Dan.
10-16-11 - The ARCA race at Toledo has been postponed due to rain. Command to start engines at 4:08 PM. Will broadcast on SPEED tonight at 10:00 PM.
10-16-11 - Good luck to our friend Robert Bujdoso as he makes his ARCA debut at Toledo today. Tune into SPEED at 2:00 PM ET!!
10-15-11 -We've become quite the little Rotax shop. The Estepp/O'Chocke RoboPong entry (foreground) and the 24 hour for TSA world record kart. In the final stages of prep for roughly 1300 laps at New Castle Motorsports Park starting next weekend.
10-11-11 - Well, the last regular race of the season was at NCMP last weekend and it was a tough one with John Vottero finishing best among the AFK drivers in 15th place (of 25), Jim Conlin 17th with Rocky Johnson just .3 seconds behind him and Dave Creech limping in at 20th after getting caught up in the first lap "Big One".
We've got all winter now to get all the fast pieces our competition was gracious enough to test thoroughly for us.
09-30-11 - Good luck to our friend and 4 time TaG National Champion Roby Bujdoso as he tests with a leading ARCA team today in North Carolina.
09-26-11 - Good test with Trey Shannon and the 24 Hours for TSA kart at NCMP today. Got lots of data on the Hoosier Tires, MRP Birel kart and Rotax engine. Convinced this is the package to go 24 hours straight and break the world record. Thank you to Mike Adams & his staff at NCMP for being so accommodating and to David Lee for video documenting some of the proceedings.
09-25-11 - Fun day at CRP yesterday w MSOKC. Glad to see Eric Creech back in a kart and happy he did it in one of ours. First time he and his dad Dave were racing against each other. Cool. Eric podiumed at the end of an exciting Feature swapping positions with fellow AKF driver John Vottero and John Fox. Great Stuff.
Off to NCMP this morning to meet Trey Shannon and pick up the 24 hour kart graciously provided by MRP Birel.
09-23-11 - Congratulations to Jason Wolfe and to Jay Motorsports on their second place in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs Formula Enterprises race today. And unless things got changed around, we're honored to have had Jason carrying the Adrenaline Fix Karting logo on the nose of his car!
09-22-11 - Good luck to all our friends at Jay Motorsports up at Road America tomorrow racing in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Jason Wolfe, Brian Novak, Pat Gallagher and Sam Beasley are starting P2, P7, P8 & P9, respectively in Formula Enterprises. Steve Pence, reps the team in Spec Racer Ford starting in 16th. Be fast. Have fun.
09-21-11 - We still have an experienced team and a trailer full of equipment ready to roll into NCMP for the RoboPong 200 at the end of October. All we need is 2 or 3 funded drivers to make it happen. Call or write for details.
09-18-11 - Day 3 of Man Cup at NCMP: Roby Bujdoso on pole after TaG 2 qualifying, P2 in the Pre-Final and P3 in the Final. BUT... stayed ahead of his nearest championship rivals, Arie Ouimet and Chris Wehrhiem. That makes two National championships in one weekend and four TaG National championships in two years. Thanks Checkered Motorsports PCR USA for the opportunity to work with such a great driver!
09-17-11 - Day 2 of the McLaughlin WKA Manufacturer's Cup at NCMP. Qualifying Roby is P8, Besley P14. Prefinal Roby is P7, Beasley P10. Final Roby P4, Ouimet (long shop title rival) P7 & Beasley P10. Congratulations to Checkered Motorsports PCR USA - TaG national champs second year in a row. Try for one more tomorrow.
09-16-11 - Pretty good day at NCMP working with Roby and the Checkered Motorsports PCR USA crew. Seemed like we traded top times with Sam Beasley and Dan Wheldon all day long. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
09-15-11 - Good luck to Patrick Gallagher Racing, Jason Wolfe and everyone at Jay Motorsports this weekend at the Formula Enterprises pro race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend. Wish I could be there but Robert Bujdoso and I have a National Championship or two to win at NCMP.
08-29-11 - We sure did a lot of racing for an "off" weekend. The Senna movie, FasTimes Indoor Karting and the SCCA National at Nelson Ledges. It was great fun to get together with our racing friends away from the track Friday night. And a huge thank you to Jay Green and everyone at Jay Motorsports for hosting us at Nelson. Their two drivers, Sam Beasley and Steve Pence both scored class wins and the points to qualify for the SCCA National Championship Run Offs next month.
08-22-11 - Last two times out AFK drivers have won the MSOKC "New Guy" award - Grant Pendrey August 14 and John Vottero August 20. Anyone care to try for three?
08-21-11 - Another good day for AFK drivers at CRP with Mark Nevill posting a career best finish of 2nd and John Vottero finishing 4th in the Senior Clone class. John was also the recipient of this week's "New Guy" award. Dave Creech made it three AFK drivers in the top 5 positions. There were 10 entries.
Great job team.
08-15-11 - Congratulations to Grant Pendrey for an impressive debut. After a mechanical DNF in Heat 1 Grant was leading Heat 2 until being passed by the series leader Dave McDonald two turns from the checkered flag. In the Feature he move up from his P5 grid position to finish second. Great job Grant.
Robin Wells had a good return to karting after 15 years out of the seat finishing 3rd in Heat 1 and lowering his lap times each session. Unfortunately he couldn't stay for the Feature due to obligations back in Columbus.
And finally, thanks to Ross Reznor for subbing for Robin and bringing an AFK kart across the line first even though we knew we'd be DQ'd at the scale house. Still, he and McDonald put on a great show
08-14-11 -At CRP with Grant Pendrey entering his first ever kart race. Good luck Grant! And with Robin Wells who is getting back into a kart after a 15 yr absence. Welcome back Robin!
08-13-11 - AFK welcomes Grant Pendrey, Ankit Gupta & Scott Stampler to the AKF/KartWorks Karting School at Circleville Raceway Park today.
08-01-11 - It was busy under the AFK tent(s) all weekend at NCMP. Five of the 17 Senior Clone entries came from our camp with John Vottero and Dave Creech leading the team's results. John qualified 8th with Dave right behind him. In the race Dave ran most of it in P6 before a late race shuffle back a couple spots. John was also in the top 10 crossing the line in P9.
07-17-11 - 26 (yes, twenty-six) clones took the green flag today at NCMP giving John Vottero, Mark Nevill and Tracy Conlin tight racing all day. John battled all race long with 3 other karts over 7th place while Tracy and Mark battled each other and three other karts a little deeper in the pack. EVERYONE had good racing and good times.
07-17-11 - Good day of testing with Audrey Staton, John Vottero & Mark Nevill yesterday at NCMP.
07-11-11 - Wild weekend at that WKA Manufacturer's Cup at BeaveRun. By Saturday evening we had two blown engines, a DNF and a team driver in the hospital. Sunday made it all good again though when Robert Bujdoso swept TaG2 with a pole and pre-final & final wins. Other bright spots were Andrew Bujdoso returning to the track Sunday after a night in hospital and Kyle Smith & Jeff Smith earning Leopard class pole Saturday followed by good results all weekend. Been watching those guys work at that for 2 years and they definitely earned it.
06-18-11 - Feature had John 3rd and Dave 4th. Congrats to John Vottero for his first karting podium. Good, clean, close racing all night. Good jobs guys.
06-18-11 - Heat 2 done: John started P3 finished P3; Dave P4 & P4.
06-18-11 - At Circleville Raceway Park with John Vottero & Dave Creech. Heat 1: John started P3 finished P2; Dave started P4 finished P4.
06-13-11 - John Vottero & Mark Neville didn't have as good a day. Mark dealt w suspected engine probs while John was out on lap 1 in an incident started by teammate Conlin.
06-13-11 - Great showing by Dave Creech yesterday at NCMP placing 4th in a 19 kart field
.
06-12-11 - Qualifying done: Creech P7, 72.3. seconds; Conlin P8 72.9; Vottero P11, 73.1 & Neville P16, 74.1. 19 entries.
06-12-11 - At NCMP today w John Vottero, Mark Nevill, Dave Creech & Jim Conlin racing.
06-07-11 - We'll be testing at NCMP on Saturday and racing on Sunday. We've got a couple of open Clone seats for either day. At the last event (May 22 - which we missed) there were 11 entrants. We have 3 lined up for this Sunday but could add a couple more. Contact us if you want to make the field bigger.
06-05-11 - Wild day at Circleville with almost half of the Clone class coming from our corner of the paddock. Congratulations to Dave Creech and Eric Fagan for well-earned heat race wins (although we lost Eric's at the scale house - 1 pound light). John Vottero posted a fine 4th place finish in his first race at CRP and Mark Neville spent time in the top three positions several times.
06-04-11 - At Circleville for the KartsWorks/AFK kart racing school. Students are finding speed in places they never thought to look.
06-01-11 - We have made the difficult decision to no longer represent and promote the PCR brand and PCR Distribution, the U.S. importer of PCR Karts. We still believe that the PCR product is of the highest quality and performance but based on the decisions made by PCR Distribution over the past seven months and the way in which we were informed of those decisions, we no longer feel that they are an appropriate long-term business partner for Conlin SpeedSports, LLC.
05-30-11 - Good weekend for AFK - Worked with newest AFK team driver John Vottero on Saturday getting him reacquainted with CRP and finding some good changes in prep for next weekend's MSOKC race. Looking forward to seeing John join the the growing legions of clone racers at both CRP & NCMP.
We also had the pleasure of working with Dheeraj Kumar Saturday, his first experience at an outdoor kart track as he transitions from indoor karting. "D", as his friends call, him made good progress early on and was very impressive all day as he chased those final tenths. "D" is welcome in our karts anytime and we hope see him at the wheel again soon.
And congratulations to AFK customer Dan Wheldon on winning his second Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.
05-23-11 - The June 4 Kart Racing School at Circleville Raceway Park is booked up. We're now taking reservations for the June 19 school.
05-22-11 - Good day at Circleville with AFK drivers Mark Nevill and Tracy Conlin placing 3rd & 4th respectively in the Clone Final. Dave Creech was running strong all day in his brand new Clone Kart until some wheel-to-wheel contact in the Final knocked his chain off. We have some work to do to get up to the front with David McDonald and Rich Johnson who really have their Clone Kart packages figured out. If we could get just a few days without rain to do some testing...
Today we had 9 Clone entries and Steve Tatman, owner of Circleville Raceway Park, announced that if the clone class has 12 entries the track will offer up $100 to the winner with $50 to second place. Only need three more. Anyone want to join in? Next race is June 5th. Contact us to reserve your Arrive & Drive Clone or have us build one for you.

04-24-11 - Top Ten Reasons Why YOU Should Be Racing With Adrenaline Fix Karting In 2011:
#10: We’ve been doing this so long we know all the right people to bribe to get through tech.
#9: Seriously, have you ever tried to mount a set of kart tires?
#8:
For an extra $10 we’ll call you “Boss” in front of that chick you’re trying to impress.
#7:
We do all the dirty work. Our clothes are already infused with chain lube, Tri-Flow & racing fuel (not to mention jelly filling). Why mess yours up too?
#6:
We’re a dealer for National Championship-winning PCR Racing Karts.
#5: Full access to the Holy Trinity Of Racing Advisors shrine.
#4:
Our motto: "Be fast or be SPECTACULAR."
#3: Cosmo The Track Dog. Do you really need another reason?
#2: We hardly ever get escorted from the premises by the Sheriff anymore.
And the (drum roll) #1 Reason Why YOU Should Be Racing With Adrenaline Fix Karting In 2011:
I mean, c'mon, a couch in the driver’s lounge area. How cool is that?
04-23-11 - In the final Conor was mixing it up with the guys and gals in the top five eventually coming home 7th in a field of 18. John and Mark had an epic battle for 9th & 10th with Mark getting by John with two laps to go - even though John had the faster best lap of the two by a mere 0.024 second. Jim was able to enjoy the Mark & John show up ahead of him on the track after spinning to 18th on the first lap in avoiding taking out a teammate for the second race in a row. He recovered to finish 11th.
04-23-11 - After Qualifying: Conor Bruce, 5th; Mark Nevill, 10th; Jim Conlin, 11th; John Vottero 12th. Should be a fun race.
04-23-11 - Racing for us today: trivia winner Conor Bruce, John Vottero, Mark Nevill & Jim Conlin.
04-23-11 - Now THAT was an eventful night! Lightning, thunder, driving rain, hellacious winds... Relieved to see everything outside the trailer still there this a.m.
04-22-11 - John Vottero got out for a few practice sessions today in the newest clone between the showers. Track was only about 70% dry so we didn't learn much but he sure looked like he was having fun. Tomorrow if it starts raining in the middle of the clone race John is going to have a definite advantage.
04-22-11 - At NCMP waiting for the track to dry... again. Seems like we did this just a couple weeks ago.
04-20-11 - At the shop putting finishing touches on the new "trainer" clone kart. 60% chance of rain Fri & Sat - hope we get to see it on the track.
4-16-11 - At the shop, will be until about 3pm. Delivering James Duckworth's PCR today and getting the Arrive & Drive karts ready for next weekend.
04-15-11 -The first of the 2011 Ekartingnews.com Driver Rankings were announced today with Checkered Motorsports PCR USA driver Robert Bujdoso listed 3rd behind Sam Beasley and David Sera. We'll see if we can improve on that in two weeks at the South Bend round of the WKA Man Cup.
04-14-11 - In the shop working on karts. Imagine that.
04-10-11 - Team drivers Tracy and Jim Conlin verified the parity of the AFK clones with a day of racing at New Castle Motorsports Park today. In the race the duo's fastest laps were within 0.12 resulting in nose to tail racing for position all day.
Indeed, the karts proved to be too equal as on-track contact between the two retired Tracy and forced Jim to limp to the checkered with a damaged kart. But for the first half of the race it was like this photo - with the 99 kart in front most of the time.
The team overall qualified 9, 11 & 13 in a 18 kart field with Tracy quickest, followed by teammates Jim and Mark Nevill. In a separate incident Mark was punted off track early in the race but was able to continue.
Special congratulations to Noah Unger and his tuner/dad Mike for their first ever NCMP pole position. They have been working long and hard for that. Mike is the lead instructor at our on-track racing schools.
Dave Creech persevered through a frustrating day of mechanical problems to finish a gratifying 6th in TaG Sportsman.
04-09-11 -Turned out to be a great day at the track. Good working with Roger Schroer and meeting & working with Ted Klaus.
04-09-11 - Just watched as a steel girder from the World Trade Center traveled by on I70 on way to Indy. Accompanied by police escort, fire trucks and approx 5000 motorcycles.
04-09-11 - Rain's stopped now just a matter of how soon the track dries. Might put the clones out on a damp track just for fun.
04-09-11 - Watching the weather radar and waiting out the rain at NCMP with Roger Schroer, Ted Klaus, Mark and Cosmo The (soaking wet) Track Dog.
04-07-11 - Final touches going on to the karts today for the first racing weekend of season for AFK. Testing and practice Saturday at NCMP with team drivers and a couple of clients followed by 3 clones entered for Sunday racing.

03-14-11 - Now here's a photo: Roby leading NASCAR Cup stars AJ Allmendinger (29), and Jamie McMurray (1) through Carolina Motorsports Park kart track's turn 5. It was a great weekend at the Zoom Zoom Nationals with Robert Bujdoso and the whole Checkered Motorsports PCR USA team. Even if Roby hadn't won both Finals and come out of the weekend leading the championship points it would have still been a lot of fun working with this great bunch of racers.
03-13-11 - Roby/Cook RokTT/PCR wins TaG 2 Final. Beasley 2nd, Fortier 3rd.
03-13-11 - Fighting understeer all race, Roby has a great fight with Allmendinger & McMurray to finish 2nd. Beasley checked out on us. Nevertheless, Roby turns fastest lap of the TaG 2 Pre Final.
03-13-11 - TaG2 PreFinal line-up: Beasley, Budjuso, Allmendinger, McMurray, Fortier. Green flag within the hour.
03-13-11 - Day 2 @ WKA Manufacturer's Cup in Kershaw, SC. TaG qualifying done, Roby P2 behind Beasley. 40+ entries.
03-12-11 - Today's results: Roby P4 in TaG1 Qualifying, P1 in the Pre Final and P1 in the Final with AJ Allmendinger second. Brother Andrew earned his first National podium by finishing 2nd in Komet Junior Heavy. Updates throughout the day only got to Twitter and not FB. Will fix for tomorrow (Sunday).
03-11-11 - Roby in his Cook Racing Engines Leopard/PCR MXK8 was 2nd fastest in today's final practice session among 50 entries. Need to find about .1 second to get in front of Sam Beasley.
03-07-11 - We've got the 2011 Schedule posted on our website but you can follow the link here. The MOSKC and KRA events are one that we will be available for but have not confirmed as of yet. Click on the Schedule tab above and please make your reservations well in advance to be sure we'll be there when you want to race.
03-06-11 - Too wet to test today but caught Csaba Bujdoso, Robert Bujdoso, Andrew Budjuso & Connor Hayes before they hit the road. Got good info on what worked yesterday and exchanged bunch of good laughs.
03-05-11 - Heading to Carolina Motorsports Park to get familiar with the facility and visit with Robert Bujdoso & Csaba Bujdoso to see what the wet(!) set up for this track is. Back to CMS next weekend for the Zoom Zoom Nationals.
03-03-11 - Stopped by Jay Motorsports HQs while traveling through Charleston yesterday, had a good visit with Jay Green. Lots of exciting stuff going on there. Good luck this season to Pat Gallagher, Eric Fagan & Travis Ward as they work with Jay to further their racing careers.
02-26-11 - Thank you to everyone that attended our handling and data acquisition seminars today and to Mike Unger for once again sharing his technical expertise. Wish we had about 3 more heaters to make the space a little more comfortable but it makes us appreciate you all even more. Lastly, sorry to anyone that Cosmo may have slimed throughout the day.
02-24-11 - AFK is proud to announce that we will be joining forces with KartWorks for a summer series of kart racing schools at Circleville Raceway Park designed to find those 2 or 3 tenths you just can't seem to find on your own.
Under the direction KartWorks' Mike Unger, students will have a short classroom session followed by approximately 4 ...hours of on-track instruction as each of Circleville's 10 corners are broken down for proper line, braking points and passing techniques. Mike provides one-on-one critiques and instruction for each driver. Fee are $75 + track pass when using your own kart and $175 + track pass when using our kart.

10-25-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting congratulates Eric Fagan & Travis Ward on their Toughman 225 win yesterday. We know that race isn't easy to win.
And to Angel Wilkinson & Blaine Eves for their second place finish on the track. Angel proved she is a ToughGirl and a real racer by driving her 2nd stint with a bandaged hand, blistered badly in her 1st sti...nt. Greg Wilkinson and his gang should be very proud of her.
10-24-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting/Creech Racing were 6th on the track and 5th coming out of the tech shed. Found ourselves TWICE stranded out on track after low speed needles fell out of the carb. Went down 12 or 13 laps between the 2 tow-ins and unscheduled pit stops. Thanks to Eric Creech, John Vottero and Phillip Unger for crewing and to The Fugitive drivers Dave Creech, Mike Unger & Mark Nevill.
10-24-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is at Circleville Raceway Park for the Toughman 225 endurance race. Managing the race for The Fugitives team of Dave Creech, Mark "The Fugitive" Nevill. Practice starts soon with qualifying to follow. 225 lap race this afternoon.

10-20-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting put in late night at Creech Racing HQs getting their Kosmic/POWERsports SuperCan ready for this weekend's Toughman 225 endurance race. Diabolical pit strategy along with youthful speed won the race for us last year but subsequent rules changes has eliminated that advantage. This year we'll have to rely on the experience and treachery of Dave Creech, Mike Unger & Mark "The Fugitive" Nevill to outlast the competition.
10-18-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting 's Tracy Conlin had a decent outing in the Clone Sunday. We're still trying things and went the wrong way for the final but she still enjoyed a good fight all race long with Andy Batt. In Clone you can work up for a pass for several laps and then have to play catch up for several laps if that pass doesn't work out. Probably the hardest she's worked the wheel all season.
10-17-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting had a good weekend working with Kyle and Bruce Sneed in the PCR/Rok TT. Kyle did great in his first taste of TaG power getting up to speed quickly and methodically. He's more than ready for Senior racing and the horsepower of TaG. Kyle Ludwick also had a go and enjoyed the Rok power and the PCR handling.
10-15-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting will be at NCMP tomorrow offering PCR test drives. If you're thinking about a new (or used) kart for next year c'mon out and check out the PCR. Still in RoboPong trim, just cleaned up a bit.
10-13-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting 's Robopong crew was once again among the very best on race day. As determined by the "pit lap" (the total lap time including the pit stop) our tight knit group ranked 4th out of all the teams entered.
Best "pit laps":
1. 1:54.3 Operation Heat
2. 1:54.8 Vision Racing
3. 1:56.6 AB Racing
4. 1:57.6 Vision Racing
5. 1:57.9 CM/ADRENALINE FIX KARTING
6. 1:58.3 Batt-Simpson
7. 1:58.7 RaceToADomain
8. 2:00.9 Haas
9. 2:01.6 Milka Way (Batt crew)
10. 2:01.9 Arrow International
Thank you to everyone that made up our dedicated crew.
10-11-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting wants to acknowledge the supreme efforts of Robert Bujdoso who, despite having to do a double stint on a record temperature day, worked us back up to 8th place with 20 laps to go. Also to Jason Moore who drove his AFK kart from 26th position to 10th in 10 laps at the start of the race before getting knocked off the track on lap 46.
10-10-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting thanks its dedicated crew for the outstanding & relentless work done before, during & after the RoboPong 200. Again, we had one of the most efficient crews in pit lane. We had both karts in the top 10 & it was obvious to everyone we were on track for a top 6 finish. Too bad we don't have the final results to show for t...hat but it was not for lack of effort from the AFK crew that never, ever gives up.
10-09-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting didn't have the smoothest of days, qualifying 14th & 26th. but it is a long race and with a little luck we plan to move up. remember you can listen to it all live on RaceFanRadio.com starting at 11:00.
10-09-10 - Robopong 200 day 2 starting. Paddock is getting busy. Karts on track in little over an hr. Quali at 3:30. Jason will be Q'ing #31. Live T&S on NCMP website.
10-08-10 - Robopong 200 day 1 done. Both teams should quali in top 10. Day interrupted by Milka taking Roby out. Elliott making great progress & Jason is fast fast fast.
10-07-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is loaded up and on the road to New Castle Motorsports Park and the Robopong 200 presented by Bridgestone.
10-05-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting sees that the 2010 Robo Pong 200 is shaping up nicely with 40 teams entered as of this morning and no fewer than seven IndyCar drivers on those teams: Ed Carpenter, Dan Wheldon, Graham Rahal, Davey Hamilton, Milka Duno, Jay Howard & Alex Tagliani.
Remember admission is FREE to spectators. C'mon out and watch one of the... most prestigious kart races of the year.
09-28-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting 's Hell Week has begun. Or, more accurately, Hell Two Weeks. It is the final push to prep the our two entries for the 2010 RoboPong 200 presented by Bridgestone. Work is going well thanks to the help of Mark Nevill and Greg Wilkinson.
09-26-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting put another one into the books: Dave was doing well in Yam Master until a last lap spin and finished 7th. Mark finished 4th in Clone Senior, surviving a race long 3 way nose-to-tail battle for 2nd. John got caught out by cold tires at Turn 1 but recovered to turn his fastest lap of the day and put in times that may hav...e had him finishing inside the top 7. Good weekend overall, great friendship and many thanks to Chef Dave Creech. Who knew?
09-26-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting has got Mark in P3 on the grid for Clone Senior, Dave qualified P8 in Yamaha Masters and John Vottero will be starting 10th in TaG Sportsman. All should have some good racin' this afternoon.
09-26-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is into day 2 of KRA double-header NCMP but it is cold, Cold, COLD. John Vottero will be doing his second kart race ever and trying to improve on yesterday's impressive debut. Mark Nevill will be piloting the Clone and Dave Creech will be running in Yamaha Master.
09-25-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting had a great day. Tracy 2nd in Clone. Mark & Dave put on an entertaining battle for 7th in Yam Masters & John Vottero impressed EVERYONE w a solid run from 11th to 6th in TaG Sportsman. More tomorrow.
09-25-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is at NCMP for KRA club race. Qualy done. Tracy on front row of Clone Senior; Mark P4 in Yamaha Masters; Dave P8 Yam Masters; John Vottero P11 in TaG. Sprtsmn.

The pairing of Michele and Robert Bujdoso should make their Cook Racing Engines-powered #32 PCR MXK8 a serious contender. This will be AFK's 7th year competing at... the 'Pong. 09-21-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is honored to have been a part of Robert Bujdoso's rookie season in senior competition and his first season in the TaG categories which resulted in 2 WKA National Championships - Tag Senior and TaG Heavy. Checkered Motorsports and PCR Distribution provided the equipment capable of winning and Robbie's talent, technical... knowledge and judgment did the rest. We're grateful to have been invited into the team.
09-19-10 - Robby wins TaG Heavy. Double National Champion!!!
09-19-10 - Robby P1 / +6sec in pre final
09-19-10 - Qualifying done. On pole for TaG Heavy.
09-19-10 - Day 3 of WKA Manufacturer's Cup at New Jeresy Motorsports Park. Attempting to make it 2 National Championship in 2 days.
09-18-10 - 3 way fight for the leal all race long. Robby leading when lapped traffic causes him and Ferris to go spinning off track letting Politis thru to win. Robby recovers to finish 2nd & is Tag Senior Champion.
09-18-10 - Quote of the weekend from Emma Landuaer when it was suggested that she be Melissa Landspurg's umbrella girl: "I don't do that. I'm an athlete"
09-18-10 - Pre-final results - Ferris, Robby, Politis, Koyen. Politis is closest championship rival.
09-18-10 - P2 in qualifying - Ferris 1:05.6, Robby 1:05.8.
09-18-10 - Robby fastest in morning practice.
09-17-10 - We're 1 of only 2 karts in the 1:05s. Ferris is the other one. Now we prep for tomorrow.
09-17-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting with Checkered Motorsports: 8 practice sessions for Robby, lot of changes, faster each sess. Not 100% sure but looks like we're fastest by end of day. 1:05.94.
09-17-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is at New Jersey Motorsports Park - Day 1 of the WKA Manufacturer's Cup season finale. Tuning for Roby Bujdoso with championships on the line.
09-16-10 -Adrenaline Fix Karting is on the road to Millville, NJ and the final Manf Cup National of 2010.
09-12-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting 's Jim had better outing: good fight for lead until mistake. Then good fight for 2nd. Dropped to 3rd for a lap or 2, got back around, finished P2.
09-12-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting 's Tracy's rotten luck continues: almost in the pond missing a lap 1 crash ahead of her. In Clone her kart stopped on pace lap - got going again 1/2 lap behind.
09-12-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is on the pole in Clone Senior by .07.
09-11-10 - AFK is at NCMP where in add'n to Can Lite Tracy will enter Clark Racing's Clone. Hmmm, looks like a father-daughter throwdown! Wagers being accepted now 4 your pick.
09-07-10 - We learned of a DQ in the Clone class Sunday once the MyLaps data was posted which moved our #31 entry up to 3rd place. So it looks like we had a podium after all.
09-07-10 - AFK thinks Jason Barfield keeps getting better every time he puts a steering wheel in his hands. This past weekend he racked up another win at the SCCA National at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama and lowered the D Sports Racer lap record there. Well done!!!
09-06-10 -We found a nice collection of pics from Saturday's racing featuring Tracy, Dana, Todd, Jim and Mark "The Fugitive" Nevill. Thanks Tracy! 2010 Part 2
09-05-10 - AFK had a decent day at NCMP yesterday. Mark, Dana, Tracy, Jim - all on pace. No podiums but we were close a couple times.
08-27-10 - AFK high fives PCR driver Robert Bujdoso for moving up to 8th in the TaG category of EkartingNews' Driver Rankings, moving ahead of none other than IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon. EKN's Driver Ranking system ranks all North American drivers based on finishes in all top-level North American karting events. Good to see hard work and talent recognized. Ekartingnews.com Driver Rankings.
08-24-10 - They did it again! 307+ m.p.h. this time. Go Bucks! Buckeye Bullet Racing
08-23-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting salutes the Buckeye Bullet Racing team and AFK driver Roger Schroer on setting a new international land speed record for battery powered electric vehicles of 292 m.p.h. on the Bonneville Salt Flats today. They're going to be trying again for their goal of 350+!
08-23-10 - We'd would like to thank Doru Stoia of PCR Distribution for coming down to CRP yesterday to support MSOKC and AFK. PCR team driver Leo Stioa and new PCR pilot Nick Luedeke dominated the Junior Sportsman races. As with all PCR Racing Team karts, Leo's is available for immediate purchase. Contact Jim at Adrenaline Fix Karting to start planning for 2011.
08-22-10 - PCR 1-2 in Jr Sportman Final, Eric 3rd in Super Can Final and Mark 3rd in Novice Final. Not a bad day.
08-22-10 - Looks like we'll be buying lunch for Doru and Leo after Cosmo ate ALL their sandwiches. Bad Cosmo!
08-22-10 - AFK is at Circleville Raceway Park supporting Mark Nevill in his AFK Margay in Novice & Eric Creech in the Creech Racing Kosmic in Can. Aslo hosting PCR importer Doru Stoia & his 2 Jr Sportman Entries.
08-19-10 - AFK couldn't help but notice that the top 4 positions in the Commercial Point Grand Prix of Karting TaG Pro race were all filled with drivers associated with Jay Motorsports. Jason Barfield and Jason Wolfe already drive for Jay Green's outfit and Travis Ward and EriNEWc Fagan are testing with the team tomorrow at Nelson Ledges with an eye towards racing with them in 2011. Good luck guys!
08-19-10 - We're sending our best positive charges out west to Utah where the Buckeye Bullet team is preparing to break their own Land Speed Record for an electric vehicle of 314+ m.p.h. out on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Karting friend Conor Bruce is on the crew and our own AFK driver Roger Schroer is again the pilot. The effort can be tracked through the link here: Buckeye Bullet Racing
08-19-10 - AFK's Yamaha Can kart is still available for Arrive & Drive in the Can Heavy or Novice class at this Sunday's MSOKC race at Circleville Raceway Park. Any takers?
08-17-10 - Eric Fagan's
CPGP Saga: Eric was in the AFK PCR/POWERsports Motori 7 for the TaG
races and we were hoping for an AFK 1-2. But several problems kept Eric
from showing his and the PCR's true potential. In practice a cracked
brake line fitting brought him in after only a few laps. In qualifying the bumps shook the exhaust system apart but he still qualified 4th. In the merchandise race the motor mount failed due to the wrong bolt being used on it. Starting last in the trophy race, he moved up to 4th but made a small mistake and took the LF corner off the PCR. In the Pro race he again started last in the hastily repaired PCR and moved into 4th by the checkered flag. Through it all Eric was professional and positive and never gave anything less than 110%. Thanks Eric.
08-16-10 - AFK was happy to see Ross Ricart and Fred Ricart return to the Commercial Point Grand Prix of Karting and race with us in the TaG Trophy Race. But, dang, the streets of Commercial Point don't seem to like Fred very much as they repelled him for a second time in last few years. Fred's definitely got the most CPGP frequent flier miles! Glad he was okay and able to socialize around the pits later.
08-15-10 - We're proud to have supported Jason Barfield in his victory in the Commercial Point Grand Prix of Karting TaG Pro Race yesterday. Dr. B was 35lbs over the class minimum weight but still managed to be on the front row for all three races with his AFK prep'd Kosmic/POWERsports Rok TT. In the Pro race he used his years of racing experience to to stay cool while Jason Wolff hounded him for all 15 laps never more than a few feet off his bumper and more than a few side-by-sides. They put on the show of the day.
08-14-10 - We made it through the Commercial Point Grand Prix of Karting intact (just barely) but before we tell the tales of the weekend (and boy, are there tales to tell!) we have to say that you certainly know who your friends are when they're all hanging from your two 10'x20' canopies while 60mph winds try to blow them into the next county & driving sideways rain soak them all to the bone with lightning flashing overhead & no one
could blame any of them if they said "this is nuts, I'm gettin' outta
here" but they stay & hang & soak & completely save one canopy & all the expensive racing equipment under it & do their best to save
the other as hurricane force gusts has the other collapse in on them. A
heartfelt thanks to a crew that never gives up: Dave Creech , Eric Creech , Tracy Conlin , Mark Nevill, Jason Barfield , Jay Green & Ralph Green. You guys really minimized the damage.
08-13-10 - IT'S AN OFFICIAL TEAM RECORD: We've loaded SEVEN (7) karts into our humble 28' AFK trailer for the Commercial Point Grand Prix of Karting this weekend, along with all the support equipment and, yes, even the Adrenaline Lounge(sm) couch & ottoman!
08-12-10 -We're getting ready for the second biggest race of the year, the Commercial Point Grand Prix of Karting. Making up our team of street racers will be:
Jason Barfield: TaG - Kosmic/POWERsports Rok TT
Eric Fagan: TaG - PCR/POWERsports Motori 7
Tracy Conlin: Super Can - Biesse/Lyda Yamaha
Mark Nevill: Can Masters - Margay/ POWERsports Yamaha
Dave Creech: Super Can - Kosmic/POWERsports Yamaha
They'll be supported by a great crew of Christopher Wheeler, Eric Creech & Jay Green. C'mon out to Commercial Point, Ohio, and be a part of this very cool event.
08-10-10 - AFK's Jason Barfield has been picked by SportsCar magazine to podium in D Sports Racer for the SCCA Runoffs. But we're pretty sure they got the order backwards. We think it'll be Dr. JB on the top step not the third. And they totally
messed up by underestimating him and Jay Motorsports in Spec Racer Ford where he's not picked at all. We think someone didn't do their homework very well.
08-09-10 - We need to make a correction: Kyle Knecht actually finished 5th in yesterday's TaG Heavy final after Billy Lewis was penalized for body slamming him out of 4th at Turn 2 and dropping Kyle to 6th. Kyle had a top 4 kart had all driving been clean.
08-09-10 - AFK with Checkered Motorsports: All things considered it was not a bad weekend. No wins but three 3rd's (that makes a whole 1st, doesn't it?) and a 4th; second fastest lap in 2 or 3 races (one 2nd FL by less than .01); the drvie of the weekend (32nd to 4th in 14 laps) and it looks like we moved Robert Bujdoso into the point lead of both TaG Senior and TaG Heavy National Championships. Kyle Knecht also had a great weekend, keeping pace with Robbie very well and finishing 8th Saturday's and 6th Sunday's Finals. It was also a pleasure and and education to work with Sean Cook of Cook Racing Engines all weekend.
08-08-10 - Sunday with PCR Racing saw Robert Bujdoso qualify 4th, get shuffled to 5th & fight back to 3rd by the end by winning a long battle with Billy Lewis. P3 again in Final after getting shuffled back to 5th (again) in a failed attempt to take 2rd place. Fought back and was closing on 2nd when the checkered fell.
08-07-10 - AFK is working with Robbie Bujdoso at the WKA National at NCMP. Qualified 3rd out of 39 of the best drivers in North America. Finished 2nd with 2nd fastest lap in Pre-Final then was DQ'd for having a modified neck collar. Started Final from 32nd position, finished 4th! The kid is spectacular.
08-06-10 - Okay, the hard part is over. 12 practice sessions in 8 hours (you get to double up if you enter two TaG classes). Lotsa work, lotsa changes but we think we're in the hunt for TaG Senior tomorrow. Watch this space.
08-06-10 - Back under the PCR tent for the WKA Manufacturer's Cup National at NCMP. Fast off the trailer again, this time with a Cook Leopard (yes, AFK is finally working with a Leopard - it was inevitable) and we're working to go faster.
08-05-10 - AFK is at New Castle Motorsports Park testing with Jason Barfield and watching the big WKA Manufacturer's Cup teams move into their fancy tents. Sunny and less humid. Good day to be trackside.
08-03-10 - The PCR Racing Team's slightly used National karts are for sale including the MXK8 that Robbie put on the TaG Senior pole at Road America and the Junior Yamaha/HPV chassis Andrew Bujdoso put on the second row in HPV Jr there. Both have less that 5 races on them. Never too early to start planning for next year. Email jim@conlinss.com for attractive discounted pricing.
08-02-10 - AFK had about 7 - 8 people jump in our Trainer kart (clone engine) and do laps after the day's racing at CRP. Everybody said it was a blast (even those drivers that are used to going MUCH faster) and that the 10+hp clone engine was a lot faster than they though it would be. Almost everyone said a bunch of these things on the track at once would be a hoot.
08-02-10 - We were at Circleville Raceway Park for the MSOKC race working with customers and friends yesterday. Good work and lots of laughs as usual. Surprise visit by Jay Green of Jay Motorsports capped off the day. Jay put about 30 laps on our trainer while he was there. Bet he's sore this morning!
07-30-10 - We will be supporting the MSOKC race at Circleville Raceway Park this Sunday. We will have our "Trainer" kart available for racing (if enough show up) and practice before and after racing for anyone (that has signed the event waiver) interested in the clone engine's performance.
07-19-10 - AFK congratulates PCR driver Robert Bujdoso for breaking into the top 10 TaG driver ranking for all of North America. Top 10 driver in NA and only his first year of Senior competition. www.ekartingnews.com/news_info.php?n=15923
07-19-10 - Plans have changed and we'll be able to make this weekend's MSOKC race at Circleville Raceway Park. If the parts arrive as scheduled today we'll have an entry for the clone class. Hope there will be others. Also, we'll have our scales set up for anyone to use for free.
Wondering if the frame got tweaked in that last ...wheel-to-wheel?
Wondering if you put that last 5lb weight in the right place? C'mon over
and find out.
07-19-10 - We had a good outing yesterday at NCMP despite
dodging thundershowers and oppressive heat and humidity. Much was
accomplished with Roger Schroer (Rotax/GP) and John Vottero (Motori
7/PCR). Also, our Trainer Kart (there is a $.25 penalty assessed to
anyone calling it a "clone") was duly broken it by Ra, Matt, Chris andEtha...n who proclained it a lot of fun. Many thanks
to crew Mark Nevill and Ross Reznor for their great support of these six clients.
07-15-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting 's test drivers discuss the new kart and this video makes YOU an AFK insider as you listen in to the behind-the-scenes test session debrief. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uQWuIuu6ZU
07-15-10 - Its been about 7 years but it looks like we're in the 4-cycle bidness again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlwfcV1ul7w
07-14-10 - Almost there. Our "trainer kart" (clone) is just about ready for testing.
07-13-10 - AFK driver Jason Barfield did some serious head-down, clenched jaw lapping at Watkins Glen this weekend, lowering his own D Sports Racer lap record by almost 3 seconds! Way to make a statement AND to leave your mark on one of our most legendary circuits!
07-12-10 - AFK is genuinely priveleged to have spent the weekend at Road America crewing for the U.S. PCR race team with drivers Robert Bujdoso, Kyle Knecht and the rest of the team. Particularly pleased to have worked with Robby to earn a Pole, a Fastest lap and 2 podium finishes in 2 Finals. Congrats also to Jacob Sekey who drove his brand-new PCR to victory in the TaG Heavy Final.
07-11-10 - PCR one-two in the Zoom Zoom Nationals TaG Heavy final at Road America with former Arrow driver Jacob Sekey winning in his new PCR & Robert Bujdoso earning his second runner-up position of the weekend.
07-10-10 - Final top 5 from today's TaG
Senior Final at Road America: P1 Tommy Anderson P2 Robby P3 Victor Pedrosa P4 Kyle Weigand P5 TJ Koyen. Some serious talent there. This ain't no party. This ain't no disco. This ain't no foolin' around.
07-10-10 - Robert Bujdoso P2 in Pre Final. Led first five laps, dropped wheel off, lost one position. Ended up P3 on track in Final but moved to P2 after winner penalized two seconds for scrubbing tires on warm up lap.
07-10-10 - PCR driver Robert Bujdoso P1 in TaG qualifying with a time of 48.441 seconds at the Zoom Zoom Nationals at Road America.
07-09-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is ready to swoop into Road America in the morning to team up with Robert Bujdoso and the rest of the PCR Team for the WKA Zoom Zoom Nationals. Look for reports as the weekend progresses.
07-08-10 - AFK driver Jason Barfield is heading up to Watkin Glen where he set the lap record for D Sports Racer last year. Good luck Dr. Barfield and remember: Lap records are there to be broken.
07-02-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting is heading to New Castle Motorsports Park for the KRA double header weekend. Wishing everyone w great holiday weekend.
06-27-10 - A big thumbs up to AFK driver Jason Barfield for his D Sports Racer podium finish at the very prestigious SCCA June Sprints at Road America over the weekend.
06-24-10 - AFK had a good day of testing today working with Roger Schroer and Tracy Conlin. We got intimately acquainted with Roger's G.P./Rotax and have isolated what has been holding us back in Senior Can for Tracy. She did a superhero job of doing lots & lots of laps and remaining consitent. Many thanks to Kyle Ludwick for jump...ing into the Rotax and providing valuable feedback.
06-17-10 - AFK still has their Biesse/Rok TT available for arrive & drive service at this Sunday's KRA Race New Castle Motorsports Park. This is the same kart that an old guy who hadn't raced for 3 years got into and ran mid-field. Certainly someone less rusty can do even better. Any takers? Email jim@conlinss.com for special pricing.
06-12-10 - Together Jim and Tracy racked up 24 miles in the Relay For Like benefitting American Cancer Soc. After, AKF hit the roller derby in Fishers, IN. Might be an area to branch into!
06-08-10 - AFK will be involved in a differnet type of race this weekend. No engines,
no tires, no helmets. Team principle Jim Conlin and team driver Tracy Conlin are part of team particiapting in Relay For Life in which it vows to have its members walking for 24 hours straight to benefit the American Cancer Society.
06-07-10 - Team driver Tracy Conlin advises against making carb adjustments between the oval and the "Ski Jump" on NCMP's long course. At that particular point the mind should not be on the right hand but rather the left foot apparently.
06-07-10 - We survived a wild weekend at NCMP: Saturday we had the pleasure working with John Vottero as he tested the PCR but unfortunately track time was cut short by a hang-onto-the-canopy-boys t-storm that attacked the track. Sunday morning storms provided more excitement leading into a windy day of racing. Both Mark & Tracy qualified mid-field. Mark finished 6th with consistent & faster laps while an electrical problem retired Tracy on lap 5.
06-03-10 - We send our congratulations to AFK driver Jason Barfield on his D Sports Racer win last weekend at Road Atlanta.
05-31-10 - Thanks to everyone that called to chkec the weather & were interested in the PCR Test Day. Sadly, weather wasn't cooperating - when still raining at 11:30 & the w/ forecast for more in the p.m., we made the decision to pull up stakes (literally) & send the PCR team on their way after a long weekend at CRP. If you were interested in testing a PCR TaG drop us a line and we'll get you in ours. Week nights can be arranged too.
05-30-10 - We've got a bunch of dialed-in PCRs in Junior and Senior configurations waiting to be test-driven by YOU. Come on out to Circleville Raceway Park, tomorrow, Memorial Day, to see for yourself why there's been a llot of yellow and red karts up front lately.
05-29-10 - Final Resilts: Robert Bujdoso 1st, Ross Rezner 2nd, Kyle Knecht 3rd. Fastest race lap by Kyle. Great fight for 2nd in closing stages with positions swapped twice on the last 2 lap. PCRs 1, 2 3.
05-29-10 - wheel problem causes DNF while leading Pre Final. We have our work cut out for us in the Final.
05-29-10 - AFK's Great Lakes Sprint Series pilot Ross Reznor on pole for GLSS TaG Senior by .1. Should be a good race!
05-28-10 - AFK had a good day of testing at CRP in prep for the Great Lakes Sprint Series round there. We learned several key elements to making the PCR work in the heat (and damn was it hot) and by the end of the day Ross had matched the PCR Distributing/Checkered Motorsports lead team driver Robert Bujdoso's best lap. Could be an interesting TaG Senior race tomorrow
05-25-10 - AFK's PCR test day is only 6 days away... Monday, May 31st at Circleville Raceway Park. The U.S. PCR racing team will be staying on after the WKA Great Lakes Sprint Series race there to give Central Ohio racers a chance to experience the new PCR. There will be an assortment of Junior and Senior karts for test drives. RSVP... or drop us a line if you'd like to do a session or two.
05-24-10 - It should also be mentioned that AFK team principle, Jim Conlin, jumped in the open AFK TaG and raced in the Old Men's Class (TaG Sportsman). He qualified 7th and ran as high as 4th before finishing 5th on a track configuration he'd never been on before. By mid race most of the rust was worn away and he began to feel competent... (not to be confused with competitive). Might even see him again out there this year.
05-24-10 - We're sending thanks out to Dave Creech for his help through the day and to Joann Bruck Creech for not letting us all starve to death as we struggled & scratched our heads. (It's almost worth leaving the karts at the shop and just go to the track for Joann's vittles.) Dave entered his first TaG race with his new PRD but clutch & brake... problems kept him from realizing the potential of the new package.
05-24-10 - We were reminded of the importance of continued testing. The PCR has been fast everywhere we've gone so far this year but a 90 degree day on a track with tons of rubber caught us out. Two practice sessions was not enough time to make the kart happy & fast. Our complacency made for a long and frustrating day. Won't happen a...gain. Many thanks to Ross Reznor for 110% effort.
05-18-10 - We still have TaG and Super Can karts available for this Sunday's KRA Race #4. Grab your gear and come on out to Arrive & Drive - we do the work while you have the fun. Call or write for special event pricing.
05-17-10 - Hardcore crew member Mark Nevill made an
impressive debut in his first kart race moving from 7th to 4th in his
first heat, 7th to 3rd in his second heat & was challenging for 2nd
when he was taken off the track by a desperate defensive move in the final. Mark
displayed a smoothness & maturity that perhaps makes him... better
suited for the regular classes than the Novice class he ran. Well done Mark!!!
05-17-10 - AFK driver Jason Barfield suffered a rib injury during practice yesterday and we wish him a speedy recovery. Jason is a very active, competitive & dedicated driver and we know it wasn't easy to sit out the rest of the day. But with a summer of KRA kart races, SCCA Spec Racer Ford and D Sports Racing on tap, risk of further... injury on CRP's tight, bumpy curcuit would not have been wise.
05-17-10 - Thank you to guest pilot Ross Reznor for putting the PCR in front in all three races yesterday, leading something like 23 of the 28 competitive laps and making the PCR do things we didn't even know it was capable of. Ross is a gifted driver with an amazing sense of the contact patch. We were proud to have him on our team.
05-13-10 - AFK congratulates Julie Conlin on her first day at the Target Chip Ganassi Racing Indy operation and wishes her well as she works team public relations for the Indy 500 before heading back to NASCAR country in June.
05-09-10 - AFK wishes all the racing moms out there a happy Mother's Day. Your racers couldn't do it without your love and support.
05-07-10 -Adrenaline Fix Karting will be hosting a PCR test drive day, Monday, May 31 (rescheduled from April 3), open to everyone. Anyone interested in test driving a PCR is invited to come out and jump in one. We'll have:
Cadet
Sportsman
Junior Can
...TaG (2)
No obligation, just take a couple of hours out of your Memorial Day holiday to come out to the track with your safety gear and see what the 2010 PCRs have to offer.
05-02-10 - Checkered Motorsports & AFK almost had a perfect weekend: TaG Heavy qualifying in damp conditions produces all PCR front row. Robbie pole with Kyle P2; Pre Final was in dry and sunny conditions... Robbie won but only just, Scott Ferris hounding him the whole way. Kyle dropped to fourth. In the TaG Heavy Final. Ferris got a great start but had Robbie hot on his heals until about lap 7 when the PCR began to push out of the corners. Post race inspection revealed that the RR hub had moved. Still, 2 poles, 3 wins and a all PCR front row wasn't too shabby a performance.
05-01-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting was proud to be part of Robbie Bujdoso's big win in the WKA Manufacturer's Cup TaG Senior Final. Robbie pulled out a comfortable lead over Mike Giessen in the opening laps but then had to turn the wick up once Kyle Weigand got by Giessen and began chasing us down. Robbie hung on to earn his 2nd National win and AFK's first. Thanks Robbie.
04-18-10 - AFK was down to one kart for GLPS Race #2 on Sunday, not being able to obtain the necessary parts to get Jim Brickley back on the track. Qualifying temps were mid-40s & our set up was only good enough for 5th. Chris recovered 1 position after losing 2 at the start of the Pre-Final but then moved his Arrow/Motori 7 up two more positions to 4th in the Final. Great run Chris!
04-18-10 - We were wrong! Chris Carmen didn't finish 4th in Saturday's GLPS TaG Senior final - he won the photo finish by .010 of a second! That, folks, came down to the placement of the transponders on the karts. Ours was about 6 inches more forward than Mr. Ludwick's. Also not mentioned in that post was that so intense was the run to the line that both karts crashed trying to negotiate the next corner.
04-17-10 - AFK has put day 1 of round 1 of the Great Lakes Pro Series in the books. Chris Carmen used AFK prep'd/POWERsports developed Motori 7 to qualify outside pole for TaG Senior in his Arrow. P2 in Pre-Final w huge lead over 3rd. Challenged for the Final lead briefly before losing a photo finish for 3rd. Jim Brickley Q'd 12, finished 10th in Pre-final & was 6th when he got caught up in a 2nd turn pile up, retiring on the spot.
04-13-10 - AFK congratulates PCR driver Robert Bujdoso for a heck of a run at the Championship Karting International round at
NCMP on Saturday. Robbie led the TaG Senior final for many laps but in
the end had to settle for a close second finishing ahead of the likes of
Kyle Wiegand, Conor Daly, TJ Koyen & Taylor Miinch. Way to make
that PCR go! Great job Robbie!
04-12-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting sends congratulations out to AFK driver Jason Barfield for not one but two Spec Racer Ford victories at the 25th Anniversary SRF Festival at Road Atlanta over the weekend. Great work by Jason and the Jay Motorsports team!
04-03-10 - Adrenaline Fix Karting got off to a great start to the 2010 season. AFK driver Jason Barfield racked up a win in the TaG Sportsman class and second in TaG Masters (in the pouring rain) at NCMP's first KRA race. Guest AFK driver Eric Fagan needed just one more lap to win the TaG Lite race in what was really just a PCR demo run. He had to settle for second after reeling in the leader in the final laps and setting the race's 3 fastest laps along the way.
03-27-10 - AFK had a great first day of testing at NCMP today. We got Jason's new kart sorted & on pace for next Saturday's race and got JAY Motorsports principle Jay Green back up to speed after a long lay-off from karting. Everyone was faster each time out and finsihed every session. No Gator rides for AFK karts!
03-26-10 - NCMP's rescheduling of the first KRA race to Saturday, April 3, forces us to move the PCR Test Day yet again. New date to be announced. Please stay tuned.
03-16-10 - The PCR Test Day at Circleville Raceway Park has moved to Saturday, April 3rd. Check out the event details and RSVP to the Adrenaline Fix Karting Facebook Event Page if you'd like to do a session or two.
