27 September - NCMP TaG 200 Secures Sponsors & TV Time
The hardworking folks at New Castle Motorsports Park have done it again, securing big name sponsorship for what is becoming their biggest event of the year and one of the biggest events in karting. By enticing Mazda, Bridgestone tires and returning sponsor RoboPong to support the "Mazda RoboPong 200 presented by Bridgestone" endurance race for TaG karts the race will again be televised on Speed TV doubling the air time from a half hour show to a full hour.
The race is also drawing big name racers as well. Pre registration includes 2005 Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon, 2003 Indy Racing League Champion Scott Dixon, IRL drivers Vitor Meira, A. J. Foyt, Jr., and Robby McGehee. Indy Pro Series drivers including 2006 series champ Jay Howard, series stand-out and former ICA karting champ Robbie Pecorari and race winner Travis Gregg. Our own Lynsey Tilton leads the USAC driver list which also includes Chuck Gurney, Jr., Brian Gerster and Michael Lewis. And of course some of the biggest names in karting are entered: Billy Lewis, Mark Dismore, Jr., Conor Daly, Kyle Wiegand, Chris Wehrheim, Josef Newgarden, Timmy Megenbier and Caleb Loniewski to name a few.
