Mazda RoboPong.com 200 Coverage & Driver Interviews
We had a lot of coverage by Charlie Brown and Greg Wright on RaceFanRadio.com during the Mazda RoboPong 200 presented by Bridgestone endurance race and they almost narrated our whole story. RaceFanRadio.com archives their broadcasts a while for later listening but we've snatched the audio clips that involved us and archived them here.
This is the second year that RaceFanRadio.com, the Internet place for music and motorsports, has covered the 200 mile race at New Castle Motorsports Park and have been very kind to our team both times. They have also broadcast the Rotax Grand Nationals and the WKA Manufacturer's Cup from NCMP this year as well. For 2008 they plan to expand their coverage of karting events to lay claim to the title of "The Official Voice of Karting".
It is important to note that coverage of the 2007 Mazda RoboPong 200 presented by Bridgestone was made possible by several very important sponsors of the program:
Franklin Motorsports
BTK Motorsports
Flemming Motorsports
K&N Air FiltersSegment 1 (1:59) - Team Introductions: Charlie and Greg have some good things to say about the only all-female team in the race as they introduce the entire starting field minutes before the race begins.
Segment 2 (7:58) - Dana's Interview: Dana uses her Lyn St. James media training to give RaceFanRadio.com a very professional interview on the team's status as the race approaches the 50 laps mark. The interview wraps around a full lap 40 running order run down of the 70 karts that started.
Segment 3 (2:52) - The Crash: Charlie and Greg were heading towards a commercial break when the Conlin SpeedSports kart crashes into the fence just feet away from their live broadcast booth.
Segment 4 (2:07) - Post-Crash Discussion: The guys come back from the commercial break and review and speculate with David Cole of ekartingnews.com on what happened in front of them minutes prior.
Segment 5 (3:37)- Mike Adams' Interview: Mike Adams, general manager of New Castle Motorsports Park gets pulled off of post-crash broom duty to talk with Charlie and Greg about NCMP and Conlin SpeedSports.
Segment 6 (2:53)- Tracy's Interview: Tracy reports in with RaceFanRadio.com to explain how she ended up trying to back into their broadcast booth. Its a pretty good interview but you can tell at some points she hasn't completely recovered from the accident.
Segment 7 (8:18)- Lynsey's Interview: After the race Charlie and Greg make a real nice shout-out to Ricart Mazda and then pull Lynsey into the booth as we set up to take our traditional team photograph, this year in front of the spectator fence pole that tried to end our race.
Segment 8 (3:18) - Finishing Order: Clip of the final finishing order run-down that includes our entry.
