25 April - Rained Out!
Saturday was perfect & gave us great times.
Just goes to show that no matter how you plan and prepare, you're always at the mercy of Mother Nature.

Opening weekend started out great enough. On Saturday the weather was spectacular and we were at the track making final tweaks and tuning for Race #1. We quickly found good balance on both karts and produced times we were very happy with. Tracy and Dana even bettered their prior personal best laps.

The track was busy with racers making final preparations and we were able to keep an eye on a few competitors. Jim Giacomelli of J&J Racing was on hand to not only help the now-strong contingent of Biesse drivers but anyone who was looking for parts, service or advice. Jim stopped by to do a little work on the brakes of both our karts which both our drivers reported as a definite improvement. We're thinking this accounted for a tenth or two in those good laps.
Sunday on the other hand...
Dana had to leave early for another commitment but Tracy and I tried a few new ideas and by the end of the day we had a set up we were really eager to try out in competition. After two months of testing we were ready.

Looming over the perfect racing weather on Saturday was the threatening forecast for Sunday. 80% chance of sever storms changed to 100% by evening and for once the weather man was right. Shortly after we got to the track and got our pit area set up the rain started. At 11:00 the decision was made to postpone the day's racing until the rain date in September.

So, we'll have to wait 13 days to see how we're stacking up against other Central Ohio karters. It'll be a Saturday raceday but using a Sunday schedule with racing starting about noon. We'll be there with bells on.

Of course, if it is cold we'll have to wear something warmer.
