09 February - Conlin SpeedSports Takes To The Skies
Acting on a dream she's had for a long time, Dana has begun ground school and flight training at Bolton Field, southwest of Columbus. Paying her own way and racing from work in Dublin to the airport with no time to eat dinner, she'll be spending an evening each week taking copious notes and learning aeronautics from the ground (literally) up. The first day of class covered concepts of the internal combustion engine and induction system which she seemed to grasp with no trouble. Funny since I've been trying to get her to grasp them for five years and her teacher can do it in 2 hours.

In her wildest dreams she like to someday become a corporate pilot but at the same time she knows that it is a complicated and expensive career to get into so she's taking it a step at a time. Should she follow that dream and make it happen she'll have tremendous for career growth potential and personal fulfillment. If she decides at some point that professional flying is not for her, she'll have an advanced understanding of mechanical and aerodynamic principles that she'll be able to apply to her racing and a special appreciation for aviation.

Who knows, maybe someday our team will have the luxury of flying to the "away" kart races with Dana at the controls - Everyone that is except for the poor guy that has to drive the equipment there. Gee, I wonder who that'll be.
